The DPPD stands for Daily Practical Personal Defense. It is based on understanding that your mind is your best weapon and everything around you can be used as tools to defend yourself.
Let us #AddToYourTools
We believe that personal defense is being prepared for any threat. Including but
not limited to, predators (animal and human), weather, and the elements. That's why we focus
on teaching the many precursors and biological responses that can't be hidden by an attacker.

Catrina Wylie
From an early age, a deep-seated passion for caring for others became the driving force in Catrina Wylie’s life. Inspired by her father dedicated to public service as both a justice court judge and an EMT, she learned that true safety comes from a blend of quick thinking, compassion, and a respect for order. Her family’s experience with a major flood further cemented this belief: being ready for the unexpected is the ultimate way to find peace of mind.
Catrina’s calling led her to a life of service where she continues to volunteer with Search and Rescue. Her extensive, hands-on experience also includes fighting wildland fires and working as a wrangler on a ranch, which gave her invaluable insight into outdoor and wildlife safety. This wealth of practical experience solidified her mission.
To formalize her commitment to helping others, Catrina founded DPPDefense. Through her company and by teaching at various events and conferences, she fills the fundamental need to move people from a place of vulnerability to one of strength and self-reliance. She shares her expertise on emergency preparedness for the home and office, personal defense, and wildlife safety.
Catrina holds an Associate’s Degree in Recreation Education from BYU-Idaho (Ricks College) and a Bachelor’s in Parks and Recreation Management from Utah State University, which further informs her belief that being ready isn’t just about physical skills, it’s a mindset that gives you the peace and confidence to handle whatever challenges life may bring.

Robert Wylie
With over 30 years dedicated to mastering personal defense and weapon craft, Robert Wylie’s expertise is a testament to a solid pedigree of world renowned experts and extensive training with multiple law enforcement agencies. Yet, his true mission goes beyond physical skills. After the devastating loss of every member of his team to suicide and his own journey overcoming self-harm, Robert discovered that true defense is about more than fighting, it’s about emotional resilience, mental fortitude, and hope.
As a best-selling author and seasoned first responder, Robert shares a unique framework for healing and situational awareness. He helps individuals and organizations identify the subtle cues of danger, from physical attacks and fraud to manipulation and more. His approach shifts the focus from reactive fighting to a proactive approach of identification and mitigation, empowering people to trust their gut and use their own hardwired instincts for self-preservation.
Ultimately, Robert’s goal is to help you feel more secure, prepared, and in control of your own well being. He works to make the world a safer, happier, and more Christ like place by helping you be prepared for any threat, whether it’s at home, in your business, or out in the world.
